Again located on the ground floor, our pre-school has been designed to encourage the children to take part in stimulating, challenging and exciting activities to extend their skills. Children benefit from a “Transition to School” that delivers high standards of teaching which gives your child a head start for when they begin school. The pre-school room is divided into well-defined “learning areas”, each equipped with resources that focus on a particular area of development. These include mathematics, reading, information technology, role play, construction and others.
In our pre-school the activities are planned according to the child’s stage and development. The play that we offer builds on previous learning and takes into account each child’s increasing concentration span and developing skills. We encourage creativity and individual expression. We provide different activities for the children to become involved in and ensure that these are rotated regularly to maintain children’s interests.

What your child will get up to during the day
The routine of the room is set out much like school so the children can get a better understanding of what school will be like.
We have strong links with the local schools and have provisions in place to support your child with this future transition. Please let us know which school your child will be attending.
On Arrival
When the children arrive at the Nursery they sit with the rest of the group and have register, the staff will sit with them and talk as a whole group; this gives the children time to talk openly in front of others helping develop their confidence in public speaking and communicating with others.
Throughout the Day
Throughout their day we offer challenging and age appropriate play experiences, our Staff are always on hand to support & teach child, but the children are expected to lead the activities themselves; this supports the children in becoming confident and capable learners whilst embracing their individual wants and needs, and helps prepare them for a school environment.
Ending the Day

Our Dedicated Staff
The staff in this room work alongside the toddler room staff to make the transition between the two rooms easier for your child and we encourage the children to be more tolerant of others and to interact with others in play activities.
